I had prepared for you a little list with interesting places to visit in Zermatt.

Frist i will start with the village of Zermatt where you can find accommodation if you plan staying more than a day but in my opinion is better to make a reservation in time cause during the season is most propable you will not find free rooms. The village got old buildings but very attractive but also new bulidings as the Grand Hotel Zermaterhoff a 5 stars hotel wich is very modern. 

Because is car-free zone you can walk around the streets wherever you want  even you want to drink a beer, a coffe or eat at a fine restaurant with you girlfriend or boyfriend. You might also need to visit the museum from the village, Matterhorn Museum . Is a cultural underground museum with the shape of the mountain village.

In the museum you will find recreations of the houses of former alpine explorers, the stones that Claude Nicollier brought with him from on the Space Shuttle Endeavour STS 61 in 1993, the rope from first ascent 1865, stone axe from Neolithic Age and remains of "Solder Mercenary" from 16th century.

The most attractive area from Zermatt is of course the mountain Matterhorn (4.478 m) where you can visit during the winter but also the summer, beside the great view wich offer in the top of the mountain and the winter sports you can also take a ride with gondola or make paragliding.

Matterhorn Glacier Paradise the best mountain area for skiing , even summer the national ski teams trains for the international competitions and is the highest cable station from whole Europe (3.883 m). Are very modern cable car wich have 4 cabins with Swarovski crystals and all cabins per total can transport 2000 of peoples per hour. The ski area have 21 km of piste with snowtubing and for national ski teams they need first to pass trought summit station to reach the summer pistes. They have all conditions like accomodation, restaurant, snow park and the Glacier Palace highest in the Europe.

Gornergrat (3.135 m) is a rocky ridge in the mountains Alps located in the south-east of Zermatt at 3 km distance. Here you will find an observatory wich you can visit and also see the beauty of the mountains from another angle. Also you will find the most highest hotel from Europe at altitude of 3100 meters, Kulmhotel Gornergrat . You can practice winter sports or visit the beautiful Igloo Village at altitude of 2700 meters.

Brienzer Rothorn (2.350 meters) is a mountain from Alps situated at east from Zermatt. From Rothorn you can take the cable car directly to Unterrothorn. Brienzer Rothorn is the highest summit shared by municipalities of Brienz, Giswil and Fluhi and the summit station have direct acces to the ski pistes.
